Welcome Message from Chairmen-AOCO

“Atithi Devo Bhawa” a Sanskrit saying, going back to Vedic period, means that “A Guest is equivalent to God.” India is well known for its warmth and hospitality. With a sense of pride and responsibility, India will host, for the first time, the 5th Asia Oceania Conference on Obesity be held in Mumbai from 6th to 8th February, 2009. You are going to be a valued guest for us rather than a delegate, and you will notice the difference the moment you land in India.
India is a vast subcontinent with a remarkable mosaic of languages, cultures and cuisines. The country is ancient in its culture but is one of the modern and fastest growing economies of the world. We are truly amazed by the response of colleagues from different parts of the world who have expressed their keenness to participate in the Conference. Every member of the Local Organizing Committee is working hard to ensure that you have the best Conference in its scientific content and social activities.
The Conference will be a unique experience in every way, right from the welcome reception, sumptuous healthy lunches, the exhaustive scientific program and great cultural events like ‘Indian Panorama’.
The weather will be pleasant and you have a number of options on touring the country, though even a lifetime is not sufficient to explore the various facets of India. We extend you and your family a warm welcome to the AOCO 2009 and promise a memorable visit to ‘Incredible India’ with its ‘wonders of the world’.
Sincerely,
Dr. K Ramamoorthy Dr. Ramen Goel Conference Chairmen
